Jimmy Bowskill is coming to town!

Guitarist for Canadian rock princes The Sheepdogs, he was once considered a child prodigy after being nominated for a Juno award at the age of 14 years old (the youngest to accomplish this feat). Bowskill has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in rock such as Joe Bonamassa and Jeff Beck. Recently, Bowskill has appeared on Blue Rodeo’s last album 1000 Arms where he plays pedal steel, mandolin and violin.

It’s not every day that the Valley gets the visit of a musician of his stature and he’ll be proving it at the Wilno Tavern on Friday night. Bowskill says he’s played at the Tavern about 15 times and he loves going back. He says that just last year, he went back to host country night and has popped in for the blues jam night as well.

Bowskill adds that he’s made many connections in the Madawaska Valley and says he considers it a second home. Though he’ll be performing a lot of his solo tunes, he says he won’t be coming alone. He says he’ll be bringing a drummer, a guitarist and a bass player with him. He says that the audience will hear an eclectic mix of bluegrass, blues, country and rock music.

Show time is at 8:00 and tickets are $25. Tickets can be bought at the Wilno Tavern, Grandma’s Pantry Killaloe and Old School Laundry C.O in Combermere. For additional information call 613-756-2029.
