The 12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety Campaign is here!
The Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council and Moose FM are giving away 12 gift bags, one every day, until Christmas to promote fire safety. Fire Chief for the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards’ fire department, Bob Gareau advises people to follow the campaign’s safety tips.
Some of the fire safety tips he offers include keeping an eye on your heat sources and candles, don’t leave food on the stove unattended, make sure you have the right amount of smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in your home. He also says you should know at least 2 ways to exit your house and the houses of people you are visiting. Gareau adds that during the holidays, people are caught up with time pressures where inattention may create a situation that causes a fire.
