Car Crashes in Renfrew’s Beer Store

A car crashed into Renfrew’s Beer Store.

Constable Janice Sawbridge of the OPP’s Renfrew detachment says the collision happened on Friday afternoon. She says the driver, a 68 year old woman, suffered minor injuries and was driven to the hospital.

Sawbridge says the store was closed for several hours following the incident and that the front glass and doors were severely damaged. She adds that because the collision happened on private property, charges might not be laid. She says they have to investigate if the dangerous driving started on the road (which means the Highway Traffic Act could be applied) or if it started on the Beer Store’s property.

She says the driver was not driving under the influence and there were no criminal wrongdoings but officers will continue to investigate.
