Tom Smith  is very happy with this year’s 53rd Annual Madawaska Valley Lions Club Santa Claus Parade.

Chairman of the parade says he’s very appreciative of the crowd that came out to Saturday’s event. He says he loved peoples enthusiasm and how they clapped and cheered for their favourite floats.

He says there were over 30 floats registered this year and the 3 chosen judges did decide on who had the best floats. The third place went to Grandma’s Garden ($100 prize), in second we had Ashgrove Inn and Restaurant ($100 prize) and the first place prize was awarded to Ottawa Valley Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine ($200 prize which they donated to the St Francis Memorial Hospital).

Smith says the quality of floats seem to be getting better and better every year which is why he says they’ll keep the theme open for next year.
