The County of Renfrew Council will soon vote for its Warden.

Michael Barber, Media Relations and Grants Coordinator for the County of Renfrew says that two people have been nominated for the position. He says that any member of County Council is eligible for the position after being nominated by two other council members. One of the nominees is current Warden and Mayor of the Township of Bonnechere Valley, Jennifer Murphy. The other is Tom Peckett, Mayor of the Township of McNab/Braeside.

Barber says the winner will be determined on December 18th. He says that at that meeting, both candidates will say their peace and a ballot vote by County Councillors will be cast and a winner will be named on the spot. He encourages anyone to attend the County Council’s Inaugural Meeting which is held at the County of Renfrew offices in Pembroke at 10:00 AM.
