The Madawaska Valley Lions Club’s Santa Claus Parade is one day away!

Chairman of the Lions Club’s Santa Claus parade Tom Smith told us this years parade won’t disappoint. With 25 floats and counting, he says the parade gives the community the opportunity to kick off the holiday season with the big guy.

This year’s floats will be judged by three impartial judges. Smith says the theme is open and prizes will be handed out to the top 3 winners. First prize will win $200 and second and third place winners will receive $100.

Smith told us that anyone can register and take part in the parade, they just have to show up and register their float before the parade starts.

The 53rd Annual Madawaska Valley Lions Club’s Santa Claus Parade will start on Kelly Street and make its way down to the Paul J Yakabuski Community Centre. He says road closures will start around 11:45, minutes before the parade starts to allow vehicles to circulate till the last minute. Once at the arena, he says kids will meet Kris Kringle. Smith says there will be face painting, Terry’s Balloons and hot dogs and drinks will also be served.
