Tree of Lights is One Week Away

The annual Barry’s Bay Tree of Lights ceremony is one week away.

Executive Director of the St Francis Valley Health Care Foundation, Toni Lavigne-Conway says over 3000 letters have been sent to community members asking them to participate. The foundation is looking to raise $75 000 this year in order to purchase 15 new IV pumps for the St Francis Memorial Hospital.

Lavigne-Conway says that when you donate, you can choose to get a light bulb which can be dedicated to a special person. That same light will then be included in the tree of lights that will be lit up in the ceremony at 6:00 on Friday night at the Barry’s Bay Railway Station. She also says the ceremony will include horse-drawn wagon rides, a balloon artist as well as snack and refreshments. She told us that the holiday season will be officially kicked off as Moonlight Madness will also be happening that night.
