Ontario Works cheques will not be mailed.
That’s a statement from the County of Renfrew which was released on Wednesday. They say that because there was a disruption in the postal service, they will not be sending Ontario Works cheques by mail and encourage you to come pick them up as of Thursday or Friday this week. They also state that you will still be asked to report income and changes.
People signed up for direct deposit will see their cheques deposited as usual.
The Renfrew County also say that you should contact your Ontario Works agent if you are unable to pick it up at the Ontario Works Office. Offices are open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and they are closed between noon and 1:00 PM every day.
