The OPP want to reduce impaired driving during their annual RIDE campaign.

Constable Catherine Yarmel of the Killaloe OPP says they want to promote sober driving this holiday season. The campaign started November 23 and runs until January 2.

She says the OPP have standard field sobriety test officers and drug recognition experts put in place to catch drivers who are under the influence. She also told us that novice drivers (under the age of 22) as well as commercial vehicle operators cannot drive with any alcohol or drugs in their system.

She always advises motorists to call 911 if they suspect they see an impaired driver.
