More Time at Home and Less Time in the Emergency Room

Home care support is available for everyone through the Community Paramedic Response Unit. The initiative is from Renfrew County Paramedic Services and allows residents from the County to spend more time at home and less time in the emergency room.

Advance Care Paramedic for the service Erin O’Reilly Olsheskie tells us that they offer many services like home care visits for residents with reduced mobility, wellness clinics and INR clinics. She says the goal is to decrease unnecessary 9-1-1 calls and to allow seniors and others to stay safe at home.

Although the target users are seniors, she says anyone can call in. The service has paramedics stationed in towns all over the county such as Renfrew, Pembroke and Barry’s Bay.

Every second Friday of the month they offer an INR clinic at the Water Tower Lodge in Barry’s Bay. For more information visit their website here or call them at 1-844-860-2778.
