Still no impaired charges laid in four weeks of RIDE program

Every year around Christmas, the police bombard the roads with their RIDE program in hopes of dissuading drunk drivers.
Yet, this year has shown a dramatic downturn in the number of impaired driving charges.
The OPP attribute the downward trend to the message about drunk driving finally setting in.
Over the past 4 weeks, the Killaloe detachment has run a total of 80 RIDE checks throughout the area.
