Combermere Community Centre to Host Supper

The Combermere & Area Recreation Committee want to fill your appetite.

This Saturday will be the 2nd annual hunters’ turkey supper at the Combermere Community Centre which should leave you stuffed. Chair of the committee, Melissa McCaig, says it’s a great event for a great cause.

She says the money raised from the event will be reinvested in the community. Last year’s funds helped the rec centre get a fridge and this year’s plan, is to improve the outdoor skating rink. Approximately 200 hungry locals showed up at last year’s feast, and this year should be no different.

McCaig told us that it takes many volunteers to put on this type of event and she is thankful that many residents come out and lend a helping hand. Overall, there are 15 volunteers on the committee but many more participate in putting together these events.

The supper is being held from 4:00-7:00 on Saturday evening. The adult entry fee is $15, while kids will be charged $7. Invest in a great time with your fellow Madawaska Valley neighbours while at the same time, investing in your community.
