Your Member of the Provincial Parliament talks about the latest cabinet shuffle.

John Yakabuski, MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke and the newly appointed Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry is content with the cards he has been dealt by Premier Doug Ford in last week’s cabinet shuffle.

The Barry’s Bay native says he is very excited with the position as natural resources and forestry is very important in his riding. He mentions that the MNRF are hand in glove with the residents and part of his mandate is to make sure it operates as best as it can.

When Yakabuski was asked if he anticipated the shuffle, he couldn’t say he did.
He says Premier Ford looked at the first 120 days or so and then made some adjustments on what he saw in order to refine the plan he is committed to delivering to the people

Given that the hunting season is among us, the new MNRF leader does ask hunters to follow the rules this season as they are all conservationists. He says that the sport of hunting is part of the Valley’s culture and that he trusts that everyone will do their part in being responsible.
