Unofficial: KIM LOVE RE-ELECTED

The votes are in!

With an unofficial win, Kim Love has been re-elected for Mayor of the Township of the Madawaska Valley. As it is protocol, the count will be reviewed and made official on Tuesday October 23. Out of the 5 candidates running for council, David Shulist, Ernie Peplinski, Mark Willmer and Carl Bromwich got elected while Shelley Maika did not.

Polls closed at 8:00 PM and all the votes had been counted minutes before 12:30 AM. According to the Township of Madawaska Valley’s Facebook Page, the township had over 5,600 registered voters.  Nearly 56 percent of those people actually voted, or 3,158 people.

Two of the winners of tonight’s elections, David Shulist and Ernie Peplinski both mentioned that they were grateful for the vote of confidence and were ready to start working for the people.

There were approximately 20 people present in the council chambers at the Township of Madawaska Valley municipal office. All five of the candidates running for council were present and as for the mayoral candidates, Andrey Kaminski and Elser Lee Faith Archer were in the room.
