The Madawaska Valley Horticultural Society wants to keep on growing.

The gardening club is inviting you to celebrate seed exchange day. On Thursday night, a gathering will be held at the Opeongo Seniors Centre. The gathering will be an opportunity for gardening fans to exchange seeds and view the stunning film, The Gardener. The event starts at 7:00 pm and will assuredly keep you entertained all night long.

Terry Newcombe, one of the directors of the Madawaska Valley Horticultural Society, tells us you can come empty handed and leave with your hands full. Gardening lovers will be given the opportunity to donate and exchange seeds from their favourite vegetables or flowers. Newcombe also mentions that the entertainment for the night will be the award-winning film The Gardener. He states that the club is privileged as it has been granted special permission by the distributor to screen the movie which is not out in theatres yet.

If you’re looking to meet great people that share a passion for horticulture, the Madawaska Valley Horticultural Society might just be what you’re looking for. Newcombe mentions that joining the club is as easy as walking in. They meet on the third Thursday of every month at the Opeongo Seniors Centre in Barry’s Bay. Till then, Thursday night’s event is surely promising. Great seeds, great movie and great people, what more could you ask for!
