EQAO Test Results Released for Madawaska Valley District High School

EQAO test results for students at Madawaska Valley District High School have been released.

The test assesses grade nine students’ math skills and compare them to the rest of the school board and province. The provincial standard is 70-percent or higher. 42-percent of students did better than the requirement in applied math, which is up 10-percent from last year. The school board improved by 10-percent as well from 42 to 52-percent this year. The province, however, only improved by 1-percent to 45.

In academic math, students at MVDHS took a big leap with 87-percent passing the requirement, compared to the 61-percent mark from last year. The board dropped slightly from 79-percent to 77. The province stayed level going up 1-percent to 84 for this school year.

38 students were tested for applied math, one more than last year. Another 46 were tested in academic math, which is up from the 41 that were tested last year.
