Madawaska Valley’s new Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Ready to hit the Ground Running
She’s been at the position for a week already, and she’s found it easy to fit in.
That’s what Stephanie Plebon, the new Recreation and Community Development Coordinator for Madawaska Valley, is saying now that she’s settled into the role. “I’m getting to know everybody and figuring out what’s going on,” she says.
Plebon joins the role already well-connected in the community. She went to school at Madawaska Valley District High School in Barry’s Bay. She also spent 12 years at St. Francis Memorial Hospital working as an administrator. With her already knowing the community well, she says it’s going to make her job easier.
One thing Plebon hopes to bring to Madawaska Valley is more regular activities. She specifically said she wants to see more yearly events. “(I want to) make Renfrew County realize what the Madawaska Valley is and what we can offer,” she says.
