A local baseball field has been nominated for a big time makeover.

The Murray Memorial Field located behind the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre has been nominated in the 2018 Kraft-Heinz Project Play, which has a top prize of $250,000. The field is used by residents across Madawaska Valley in the summer, whether it be adult softball leagues or the minor baseball association.

Kim Recoskie nominated Murray Field for the contest, saying with the winnings she would like to see fences added to the dugout area, as well as the outfield leveled as it can cause a safety concern for players.

Kraft-Heinz Project Play is accepting nominations from the public until September 16th. After that, four finalists will be announced before a voting period begins in October. The winner of the voting will receive $250,000, while the other three finalists will each receive $25,000.
