Police Remind You To Be Safe Around School Buses

With less than a week until students head back to school, police want you to prepare for school buses on local roads. Killaloe OPP Constable Catherine Yarmel says if you see lights flashing and a stop sign on a school bus, you have to stop and wait for it to turn the lights off. Yarmel reminds you this goes for traffic in both directions, unless separated.

She also reminds you that if you’re caught not stopping for a school bus, the minimum consequences are a $400 fine as well as six demerit points.

Students in Renfrew County head back to school next Tuesday, September 4th.
