Killaloe OPP is reminding residents to be careful while driving after dark.

This comes after two collisions in the past week involving moose. Police say both collisions were on Highway 60 in Algonquin Park. The first one came Wednesday night when an SUV hit a moose a few kilometres from the West Gate, which caused another car to swerve in an attempt to avoid the crash and end up in a ditch.

The second collision came Sunday just before 9:00pm near Opeongo Lake Road when an SUV was badly damaged after hitting a moose. Killaloe OPP says there were no injuries reported in either collision.

OPP Constable Catherine Yarmel reminds you to always have your lights on when driving at night, and to always scan the shoulders for wildlife while you’re driving.
