Canadian Blood Services Looking For 77 Donors In Eganville

While it’s still a few weeks away, Canadian Blood Services is looking for a good turnout at its next Eganville blood donor clinic.

Territory Manager MaryAnn St. Michael says the goal for the clinic is 77 unit of blood on September 10th, which is higher than it has been in the past. She says this is because Canadian Blood Services only comes to Eganville four times a year instead of six like it used to. St. Michael says this is a result of the donation intervals changing for women, and she found most of the time people came in couples to donate in Eganville.

She adds that since there’s no more donor clinics in Barry’s Bay, residents from more rural areas of Renfrew County will often make the trip to Eganville to donate blood when clinics are in town. St. Michael says that there’s still an urgent need for donors Canada-wide.

The Eganville Clinic begins at 2:30pm on September 10th and will run until 6:30pm at the Eganville Legion. You can book an appointment at Blood.ca.
