Renfrew County ATV Club Riding In Memorial Of Former Member

This Saturday, ATV enthusiasts from around Renfrew County will be remembering one of their own.

In February, former Renfrew County ATV Club Board of Directors member Carl Larocque passed away and has since been remembered fondly by his family, friends and members across the club.

Club President Teresa Hebb says Larocque was a key part of the ATV community as he was usually the one people went to when work on a trail needed to be done. The idea for a memorial barbeque and ride came from Club Vice-President Steven Hebb, who worked very closely with Larocque.

All proceeds from the ride will be going towards a pair of local youth charities chosen by Carl’s family, including The Grind Youth Programming in Pembroke and the Champlain Discovery Breakfast Club.

The cost for the ride is $20, which includes a barbeque being held on the Baron Canyon Trail at 5:00pm. Pre-registration for the ride can be done online here, or at 8:00am Saturday at the Pembroke and Area Airport. The ride will start at 10:00am and go until roughly 4:00pm. Hebb also says the barbeque is open to non-riders.

As this ride is a special occasion, Hebb says that trail permits aren’t required to take part but are still appreciated.
