On Monday Canadian Blood Services issued an urgent need for blood, and on Tuesday residents in Renfrew County delivered.
That’s according to Territory Manager MaryAnn St. Michael who says the goal was 120 blood units, but 159 people turned up willing to donate at Tuesday’s clinic in Pembroke.
However, she says not all of them were able to donate.
St. Michael says everyone at the clinic was pleased to see such a big turnout, especially since the summer months are usually slower for blood donations.
The next blood donor clinic in Renfrew County is September 10th in Eganville at the Royal Canadian Legion. You can book an appointment here.
