M.P.P. says Hydro Prices Won’t go Down Over-Night

It’s an issue that has affected everyone in Ontario – Hydro prices.

John Yakabuski, the M.P. for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, says that, while it will be a long process, they have already started working on following through with their commitment to lower Hydro prices.

Yakabuski added that while former Hydro One CEO Mayo Schmidt didn’t get his severance package, he did get a $400,000 benefits package and keeps his stock options.

With the retirement and firing of the entire Hydro One Board of Directors, there needs to be a thorough search for replacements, Yakabuski says.

Once the new Board of Directors is determined, they will work to vote on a new CEO. In the meantime, Paul Dobson, Hydro One’s current Chief Financial Officer, has been named acting CEO.
