For the first time ever, Madawaska Valley will be judged on the national scale.

That’s because the township is once again welcoming judges from Communities in Bloom to tour the area on July 19th, 20th and 21st. Judges will be looking at six categories including tidiness, environmental action, heritage conservation, urban forestry, landscape and floral displays.

Communities in Bloom Madawaska Valley Co-Chair Elser Lee Archer says it’s been a huge factor in the economy in Madawaska Valley.

Each year, communities from around the world participate to earn ‘blooms’ at the provincial, national and international levels.

Co-Chair Debbie Marshall says residents have embraced CiB since it started up in 2016. She wants you to be welcoming towards judges if you see them next weekend.

Madawaska Valley is taking part in the 1501-5000 population category, with awards being given out in late September.
