Rain drought could continue into next week

If you’re hoping for some rain, you might have to keep waiting.

That’s the message from Environment Canada Meteorologist Peter Kimbell, who says while there is a chance of rain over the weekend, it’s still not a guarantee.

Kimbell says the lack of rain actually comes from the hot weather that hit Ontario in the first week of July.

Kimbell says some relief rain may come to the area next weekend, but it’s still too early to tell. He also says that while temperatures have stayed above average for most of July, no records have been broken yet.
