Relay for Life Renfrew County has exceeded its expectations.
The relay was held Friday evening at the Pembroke Memorial Centre from 6:0pm until midnight with a goal of raising $91,250 for the Canadian Cancer Society. By the end of the relay, more than $92,600 was raised by teams within the county with some raising over $4000.
Across Canada, more than 110,000 participants took part in over 400 events. The Canadian Cancer Society says that Relay for Life events have raised over $25-million for cancer research.
