MV Hospice offering free workshop to high school students this summer

High school students in Barry’s Bay will have a chance to learn how they can help their elders.

That’s because Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care is hosting a workshop that will teach teens about aging and dementia. The workshop will teach students communication skills to interact with people with dementia and learn about activities and how to engage those with it.

Once the workshop is complete, students will be able to participate in supervised volunteer opportunities with MVHPC to get volunteer hours or for their resume.

The workshop is available to Madawaska Valley District High School students on July 11th from 12:30pm to 4:30pm at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

To RVSP, call Madawaska Valley Hospice at 613-756-3045 ext. 350 or e-mail [email protected].
