Third candidate for Hastings Highlands Mayor submits nomination papers

Joey Shulman wants to be the next Mayor of Hastings Highlands.

The 67-year-old has lived in Hastings Highlands since the late 1980s and has been involved since he came to the area through musicals and community events such as Maynooth Madness and the Brighten the Night Christmas parade.

Shulman ran for Mayor in 2014, but withdrew from the election early in the campaign for personal reasons. He says he wants to preserve the natural gifts and cultural talents of the municipality, while welcoming new ideas and solutions to challenges the municipality will face.

Shulman is the third resident to submit nomination papers for mayor, with the others being Vivian Bloom, who is seeking re-election, and Vic Bodnar.
