Valley Manor long-term care home is moving, and growing.
During Monday night’s Madawaska Valley Council Meeting, staff members from Valley Manor presented a delegation highlighting some of the changes coming to the manor.
CEO of Valley Manor Trisha Sammon says the new location is right next to the hospital in Barry’s Bay, which is something that was taken into consideration when planning.
Sammon also says being next to the hospital will make it more accessible.
The plans also include adding 6 more long-term care beds for the home, which were announced earlier this year by the government.
She says the project is planned to be completed within the next three years, but the timeline could change.
Sammon says it was important during the planning process to keep some old exterior aspects of the current Valley Manor building.
