A chance to learn about the importance of safe food handling is coming to Palmer Rapids.

The Renfrew County and District Health Unit is running the free course for residents in and around Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan to learn about how to safely handle food while you’re cooking.

The course covers a variety of topics including pest control around food, temperature and your hygiene in the kitchen while cooking.

The health unit says at least 12 people must be signed up in order for the course to run. You can sign up by calling 613-758-2061. The course is on July 11th from 9:00am to 4:00pm. To view the Food Handling Safety Manual, click here.
