A group in Whitney is hoping to raise funds at a car wash this Saturday.

Future Whitney Leaders is a group made up of young men and women that want to help the community and their schools, according to two members, Kaylee and Kaden.

The group is hoping to create a community garden with some of the funds from the car wash and previous events that will become a thriving community space that brings people together.  The group says it also hopes to see the food that is grown go towards feeding residents with healthy options.

The car wash, located at the fire hall in Whitney, is from 10:00am to noon tomorrow and costs $5.  An official from the County of Renfrew is also expected to present during the event.

The Future Whitney Leaders group says there will be other options to donate to the cause at the car wash as well.
