Liberal candidate Jackie Agnew wants cheaper housing, better broadband

Bonnechere Valley Councillor Jackie Agnew wants to represent the Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke riding in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

Agnew has sat on council for Bonnechere Valley since 2014, but says she’s always wanted to do something bigger on a provincial scale.

The Liberal Party candidate says affordable housing is a huge issue in the riding.

Agnew says creating more affordable housing in the riding would attract more people to come and live here.

Agnew says another big issue in the area is broadband services. She says she’s proud to be involved with the Liberal Party, who committed to broadband connectivity in the 2018 provincial budget.

Agnew says it’s no question that broadband service is an issue across the riding for not just residents, but businesses and tourists as well.

When it comes to hydro, Agnew says she’s spoken to multiple residents and has heard that their hydro rates have gone down since the Liberal’s Fair Hydro Plan came into effect in June.
