Algonquin Park Opening Further Delayed

If you were waiting to go camping in Algonquin Park, you’ll be waiting a little bit longer.

While the park was originally scheduled to open on April 30th, opening day had to be pushed back to May 4th because of the snowy conditions.

Now, Ontario parks says campground openings will be delayed even further to Friday, May 11th.

The reason for the further delay is because of the late arrival of spring, which is also why the opening was initially delayed.

Any visitors with reservations up to May 10th can receive a full refund from Ontario parks, or change their reservation dates free of charge.

Affected campgrounds include:
Achray,
Brent,
Kiosk,
Rock Lake,
Tea Lake,
Whitefish.

Ontario Parks says that all backcountry campgrounds are also closed, as well as ranger cabins, portages and backcountry access points.
