Whitewater Brewing Company in Cobden is getting some help from the provincial government to grow.
The brewery, which has been open since 2013, is getting $500,000 for upgrades to its facility through the Eastern Ontario Development Fund.
Co-founder and co-owner Chris Thompson says the funding will be used to increase their output.
Thompson says the brewery does need to hold up their end of the deal with the province to get the funding, which means growing as a company.
Thompson says that another challenge in applying for the funding was building a five-year plan, as Whitewater Brewing isn’t even five years old yet.
Whitewater Brewing Company is one of eight projects supported by the Eastern Ontario Development Fund, which supports nearly 1000 jobs.
