Students in Renfrew County have a chance to start up their own business, with some extra help.

That’s because Enterprise Renfrew County is running its annual Summer Company Program, which sees student entrepreneurs receiving up to $3000 to cover start-up costs of their businesses.

Colleen Sadler, Business Consultant at Enterprise Renfrew County, says it’s important for young people to pursue business opportunities.

The program is open to both high school and post-secondary students between the ages of 15 and 29 in Renfrew County. Sadler says the skills from starting their own business can help them in the future.

Over a 17-year span, the Summer Company Program has helped guide almost 200 young entrepreneurs in Renfrew County. Applications for the program close on May 19th and are available here.
