A freezing rain warning has been issued for the area.

Environment Canada is calling for this morning’s snow and ice pellets to turn into freezing rain this afternoon or evening. The freezing rain is expected to linger on until tomorrow morning.

The weather agency says ice build-up combined with winds up to 50 kilometres an hour could lead to power outages. You are being encouraged to postpone any non-essential travel because roads, sidewalks, and parking lots could get icy, slippery, and dangerous.
