Residents interested in running for municipal council throughout Renfrew County have a chance to learn about what it takes to be a councillor.

Seven municipalities within Renfrew County are teaming up for a workshop that will teach interested residents about the roles and responsibilities of being a member of council, expectations of being in office and everything they need to know if they plan on running for office on October 22nd.

The workshop will be led by Fred Dean, a lawyer who works with municipalities and a former clerk for the City of Sudbury for over 20 years.

The workshop is on April 23rd at the Ma-te-way Activity Centre in Renfrew. While there’s no-cost to attend, you must first register by contacting Jennifer Charkavi at 613-432-4848 ext. 104 or [email protected].
