Police want you to make sure you’re yielding to pedestrians at crosswalks.
This comes after Upper Ottawa Valley OPP laid charges against ten drivers during a blitz held March 23rd to April 8th.
Constable Shawn Peever says drivers need to remember to yield until pedestrians are across the whole roadway in some instances.

Peever also says that it’s important you know the difference between a crosswalk and a crossover.
Peever says the fine for not yielding to pedestrians can lead to a $180 fine and three demerit points, while the fine can increase for repeat offenders.
