A graduation ceremony is happening this afternoon for students in a program that helps youth find employment in our community.
The Skills Link program is offered through Access Work Service and provides certifications, job training and 16 week work placements to those who are facing work barriers. Eight graduates have worked with employers from Barry’s Bay, Combermere, Palmer Rapids and Bancroft. Workplaces ranged from the Township of Madawaska Valley to Links to Health, the Vintage Shoppe, the Balmoral Hotel, Kaszuby Cleaners and more.
The program is funded through a more than $97,000 grant from Service Canada.
The graduates are being celebrated at a ceremony at Activities+ in Barry’s Bay this afternoon at 2:30pm.
