Hundreds in Renfrew County on Sunshine List

Hundreds of public-sector employees from across the Renfrew County have made Ontario’s Sunshine List.

The list was released on Friday and shows public-sector employees who made more than $100,000 in 2017.

100 employees from the Renfrew County District School Board made the list, while 48 from the Renfrew County Catholic District School board did as well. Superintendent of Corporate Services Lisa Schimmens is atop the public board’s list, making nearly $163,000 last year. The Catholic Board’s Director of Education Jaimie Perry made just over $156,000 in 2017.

On the county level, 33 County of Renfrew employees made the sunshine list, with the highest paid being CAO Jim Hutton, who made over $200,000 last year.

On the municipal level, most municipalities’ highest paid member of the Sunshine List was also their CAO, with the exception of Renfrew. Renfrew Fire Chief Guy Longtin was the highest paid at $145,580.

The municipality with the most Sunshine List Members in the county was the City of Pembroke, with 33.

Madawaska Valley didn’t have anyone on the Sunshine List, but former CAO Craig Kelley made the list in his new position as Director of Development and Property with the County of Renfrew.

The Renfrew County and District Health Unit had six people make the list with the highest paid being CEO and Director of Corporate Service Heather Daly, who made over $140,000 last year.
