Speed Changes Suggested for Old Barry’s Bay Road

Speed limit changes may be coming to Old Barry’s Bay Road.

This comes following a report done by Perspective Engineering, which says that the posted speed should be reduced from 80 kilometres an hour to 60.

The report says that with the current speed limits, 29 of the 51 turns on the road are considered substandard. With the speed limit reduced, the number of substandard corners would go from 29 to 15.

According to the OPP, there have been 42 collisions on Old Barry’s Bay Road in previous years, with 21 of them happening on substandard curves.
