Donations needed for Operation Snowsuit

Donations are needed for an annual campaign that offers winter clothes to children in low-income families across Renfrew County.

Operation Snowsuit is organized by the Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network. The campaign collects new and gently used snowsuits, hats, gloves and boots in sizes for babies to kids who are 18-years-old. The outerwear can be dropped off in boxes around the county, including at some schools. Donations are stored in a space at the Pembroke Giant Tiger so that they can be given out to children throughout the winter.

Coordinator Lyn Smith says there have been 268 requests so far. She says clothing or cash donations are accepted.

Volunteers are also needed to help pack snowsuits on the weekends. You can register online to receive a snowsuit here.
