Changes could be on the way for school boards across Ontario after a Toronto teen drowned in Algonquin Park.

The Ministry of Education says it will be reviewing outdoor education policies in all school boards, and make sure they’re being followed.

This comes after 15-year- old Jeremiah Perry drowned in Big Trout Lake in Algonquin Park on July 4th while on a school trip.

The Toronto District School Board has also announced Perry was one of 15 students to go on the trip despite not having passed a mandatory swim test.

The Ministry of Education also says it will increase funding to life-saving swimming programs.
