Madawaska Valley Council is looking into funding to help with infrastructure in the municipality.
The Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund is increasing provincial funding to 300 billion dollars by 2019, and the Madawaska Valley would be eligible for up to $1.7 million.
Council is exploring options, but believes Old Barry’s Bay Road could benefit from the funding. Old Barry’s Bay Road runs nearly 20 kilometres from Highway 60 in Barry’s Bay, to Highway 62 in Combermere.
The deadline to apply for the OCIF Top-Up Funding is September 27th.
Operations Managers Hilary Kutchkosie will present engineering quotes at the next council meeting on August 21st.
