Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected as Weather Statement Issued

A special weather statement remains in effect this morning, the fifth in as many days for the region.

The forecast is calling for more thunderstorms and heavy rain beginning this afternoon and continuing into tomorrow morning.

Environment Canada says there could be up to 50 millimetres of rain some areas and is advising drivers to be prepared for unpredictable and rapidly changing weather.

The statement is in effect for all of Renfrew and Hastings counties along with Deep River, Whitney and Algonquin Park.
