Finance Committee to Explore Provincial Assistance for Flood Clean Up

Madawaska Valley’s Operations department has assessed the costs of repairs from the region’s recent flooding and may turn to the province for assistance.

The township’s Finance and Administration Committee will be reviewing the numbers from the many washouts and overtime staff have put in over the last month.

The committee will be reviewing the Municipal Disaster Recovery Assistance Program’s guidelines, claim processes and full flood impact.

Committee meets tomorrow at 9:00am in Barry’s Bay council chambers.
