Relief of Hydro Costs Now Means Larger Price Tag in the Long Run

Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke MPP John Yakabuski says the province’s plan for Hydro will save Ontarians now but will leave them paying for it later.

He says the privatization of Hydro One and the sell offs have led to a solution being needed to sky-rocketing costs.

Yakabuski will be casting his vote against the province’s plan to use $42-billion to save Ontarians $24-billion.

He says there’s only one way the province can pay for it, through debt which brings the price tag to over $90-billion – a price tag taxpayers will have to pick up.
