The Killaloe OPP says 11 offences were handed out over its March Break distracted driving blitz.

Police used focused patrols to nab drivers texting behind the wheel last week.

A recent report from the OPP says 11 people have been killed on provincial roads linked to distracted-driving.

The number of deaths, injuries and fines have spiked only three months into 2017.

The OPP says 1,600 charges were handed out across Ontario during the blitz last year, as opposed to over 2,400 last week.

The Bancroft detachment reported 26 fines were handed out during the campaign.
