Tentative Tax Increase Held to Just Below One Per Cent Following Budget Talks

Madawaska Valley’s council is one step away from approving its new budget.

After three days of talks the Finance and Administration Committee is recommending to council a 0.99 per cent increase in the tax levy.

Council will be meeting next month with the final word.

Mayor Kim Love says roads and recreation were under a great a deal of scrutiny over the course of the meetings.
